INTRODUCTION OF MY PLACE
Dharan is a beautiful town situated at Sunsari district at Eastern region of Nepal. The Northern part is covered by great Mahabarat range and Terai belt is Southern part. The Southern part of Dharan is covered by forest which is known as ‘Char Kosha Ghadi’. The Eastern consist of Sauti River and Western consist of Sardu River. Dharan lies in the Bhawar pradesh. It’s location is 26 53’N and 87 28’E and 365m high above sea level. It is 1225 hectars in area. According to recent datas total population of Dharan Nararpalika is about 2 lakhs.
Dharan is a town area so we cannot find more crops but paddy is grown in summer season and maize plantation is also done. Kitchen gardening of different vegetable is also done according to seasons. Dharan has tropical climate. Dharan has moderate climate (nor cool neither hot). People of dharan follow many religions but the majority of the followers of Hinduism are more and there are no domestic walls among societies. People also follow Islam and Christianity. There are many temples. There are some stupa, mosque and church. In dharan there is one of biggest hospital pf Nepal known as B.P.K.I.H.S. It is an urban area. People speak their own mother tongue. The main language spoken is Nepali. Most of the people here are businessman. Some are engaged in services, hotel, foreign army etc. There are small-scale industries like pipe, sweaters, shoes, caps etc. Dharan is developing every year and as it is developing, development works are been carried out which are helping as well as destroying the environment.
